This Sausage Gravy is so easy to make, and best of all there is no Flour or Xanthan Gum. We’re using Parmesan as the thickener in this recipe.
Preparation time for everything is about 20-30 minutes.
This Gravy makes 3 servings*
First prepare your Biscuit Dough.
Sausage Gravy
• 1 lb. Hot Breakfast Sausage
• 1 – 1/2 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
• 1/4 Cup + 1 Tbl. Shredded Parmesan
• Salt and Pepper, to taste
Instructions:
First prepare your Biscuit Dough, and set aside.
Fluffy Southern Biscuits
1.) In a large frying pan cook sausage over medium heat. Stir often so it doesn’t burn. Once cooked drain fat.
2.) While Sausage is cooking. Place Biscuits into the oven.
3.) Add Heavy Whipping Cream, Parmesan and Salt and Pepper to Sausage in the frying pan. Heat over medium heat until it gets bubbly and thickens up. Once it’s thickened, up turn down the temperature to low. It is now ready to serve over your warm Biscuits.
💙 Notes:
💙 This makes enough gravy for *6 Biscuits and Gravy. I normally serve 2 per person, so you would only have enough for a total of 3 people.
💙 You can use regular Breakfast Sausage if you don’t want it spicy. I highly recommend Beeler’s Hot Breakfast Sausage.
💙 To reheat the Sausage Gravy, cook on low, and add a smidge more Heavy Whipping Cream, Parmesan, and Salt and Pepper.
💙 To reheat Biscuits from the refrigerator, place on a cookie sheet, turn on oven to 350• and let them get warm for about 5-7 minutes. Keep an eye on them.
💙 If Biscuits are frozen defrost first then warm up.
